Tell us about 'Everyday People' and what made you want to start it?
Everyday People is a daytime cultural, music and wellness event. I created Everyday People simply as a place for my friends who are young POC to network, dance and just have a good time. Upon moving to NYC I found it difficult to achieve a sense of community and I had a lot of trouble finding an internship because I soon realized it's not about what you know but who you know.
What started off as a small gathering of friends and friends of friends' has now grown upwards to 2,500 attendees. Everyday People is also expanding with events taking place in different cities as well as continents!
What is your go-to piece of jewellery?
My go-to-piece of jewellery is a delicate necklace. I think that I tend to be more on the simplistic side when it comes to clothing and pairing a necklace with an outfit adds a bit of sparkle to my look. I also love a good pair of hoop earrings - it can really dress up even the most casual look.
What is the earliest memory you have with jewellery?
What is it about Monica Vinader pieces that you like the most?
My favourite thing about Monica Vinader jewellery is that the pieces are simple and delicate, just how I like it. I absolutely love the rose gold finish and the personalisation that Monica Vinader offers. I definitely like to have unique pieces and there is nothing more unique than having my name engraved.
If you could only engrave one symbol, sentence or character what would that be and why?
I would engrave my mother's name. She is one of the most important people in my life. She has been a role model to me in every form and shape. She is the first person I ever saw wear jewellery and do it so well.
Made from the finest precious metals, using only ethically sourced diamonds and gemstones - these pieces are too beautiful to be left behind.
